FEATURED PROJECT

ST. PETER THE FISHERMAN PARISH

St. Peter the Fisherman Parish in Eagle River, Wisconsin was in need of a new facility because the existing church building was literally falling down.

BIRSCHBACH & Associates, Ltd. assisted with the over 15 site selection evaluations, space needs planning, project master planning, Phase I design and construction. Situated in northern Wisconsin the congregation desired a complex that was fitting to the Northwoods. The master plan complex included the Phase I church, parish center, and infrastructure site work for the Phase II Fellowship Hall and Phase III Education Center.

Eagle River is a popular vacation destination and the church population swells in the summer months. Therefore, the nave space needed to be flexible; expanding in the summer months to seat 1,000 yet be intimate during the winter months for 600. BIRSCHBACH & Associates, Ltd. accomplished this by providing two wings each seating 200 that can be closed off for the smaller space with movable walls yet feel part of the entire assembly when open.

Phase I dedicated on May 18, 2002 and was completed for $6.5 million. The parish is presently fund raising for Phase II.
