FEATURED PROJECT

ST. MATTHEW CATHOLIC COMMUNITY

St. Matthew Catholic Community has worshipped for fifty years in a facility designed as a gymnasium. There has always been a vision for a permanent church on the corner of St .Matthew Street and Webster Avenue, but the vision fifty years ago was for a traditional processional type space. Vatican II in 1962, of course, changed the requirements of a worship space design and the new St. Matthew is designed with a fan shaped gathered seating arrangement around the table, a living water immersion font, large gathering space, daily mass chapel, reconciliation chapel, and Eucharist reservation alcove. In addition, some school renovations, including handicapped accessibility to the school levels were a part of the campus project.
